Blue PC Project Log 10 - 7th June 2006 Another quick update, to show you the rest of the orders that arrived yesterday... ^ From Kustom PCs I ordered a set of 2 ACRyan red cathodes; 5 x 3mm/3v Red LEDs (for the fan controller); a case mod sleeving kit (carbon) for sleeving the usb, switch cables etc. and I also got 2 Vandal Proof switches, in red. One for the power switch (with power LED) and one for the reset switch (with HDD activity). ^ 2 sheets of acrylic also arrived, one 3mm thick and one 8mm thick. I'm not 100% sure which will be used where, but I reckon the 3mm will be better for the front panel, as the switches are quite small - leaving the 8mm for the window and other bits. ^ They're bright, the edges light up nicely in natural daylight... case feet, HDD shelf? ^ I didn't have time to unpack the PSU in the morning, so spent a good 15 minutes going through the box. It's quite a large box and they fit a lot into it. ^ 530w, modular PSU. ^ They give you a lot of modular cables with it! I'm afraid I'll only be using one or two of them though, seems a waste. Now for the reason this mod has a delay: ^ I've spent the past two evenings 'stealthing' all of the cabling. The most annoying thing about having a PC on a surface, is all of the cabling, power adapters and so on, that goes with it all. ^ I could write a whole project log on it, but I wont. The cable modem and router are hidden below the desktop now - along with various power adapters and many cables. My sub is in the cupboard alongside with the speaker cables being hidden too. Nothing really interesting, but once the 2 PCs are back in place (along with 2 x LCDs etc.) the cabling wont spoil it. Tonight I've got to put everything back in the bedroom, as I removed it all to 'stealth' the cabling. Once that's done I should at least get the side-window cut out of the acrylic if I get the time. Otherwise it might be left until the weekend. I've got a lot of mess to clear up before my fiancee returns at the weekend!
