About Me

Born on May 14th 1984, as Matthew Edward James Juffs; I grew up in Windsor, South-East UK.

At the age of 18 I started my 3 year degree, Games Computing (Software Development) at the University of Lincoln. I graduated in September 2005 with a 2:1 Honours and decided to stay in Lincoln.

I am a Senior Developer for Eventure Internet, specialising in ASP.NET C#, MSSQL, HTML5 and CSS3.

I enjoy many things such as socialising, music, gaming, films, the outdoors and I am also into hardware and technology and the web.

In 2005 I became engaged to Anneka, who I met at Lincoln Uni - we got married on 2009-05-16! On 2008-07-07 our beautiful daughter - Lily Elizabeth was born! We're currently blogging about baby Lily at babysfirstblog.com We're also expecting our second daughter, Mia Leia Rose on 2010-05-07!

Slickhouse

Slickhouse was started in 2002 by a small group of friends at University and was originally named PUN, or Piss-Up-Nite. It documented a few piss ups that we enjoyed through our University years. In 2003 I purchased the domain slickhouse.com along with some hosting from UKHost4u.com. Since 2008, Slickhouse has been hosted from home via a 50MB Virgin Media connection.

The name slickhouse originates from the house that I lived in during University life (and still reside in today). The house itself was said to be slick by a friend and so the name slickhouse was born.

Over the past few years, slickhouse has gone through 6 major version changes - and has altered its focus a few times too. Now it is my blog, for me to keep a record of my digital thoughts and it also allows me to showcase a few of my projects.

SlickCMS

Slickhouse is powered by SlickCMS, a Content Management System I developed as a result of using WordPress for 5+ years. SlickCMS itself is built upon Microsoft Technologies - ASP, ASP.NET and SQL Server.
