Summary
I could write 5 or so long posts about the events over the past week or so, but I’ll keep it short and sweet, in the form of a summary, or Précis for nostalgia purposes…
- We went to Tunisia
- It was hot(-ish)
- Tunisians are, well, different
- I found out I am crap at haggling
- I found out that Anneka is really good at haggling
- I found out that Tunisians are rude if you don’t purchase anything
- 7 days is just about enough for a holiday
- We landed yesterday at 1.05pm, back in sunny (ha!) England
- The clutch on my car was buggered when I went to drive back to Lincoln
- RAC recovered my Punto from Tamworth to Lincoln
- I’ve spent all morning phoning the RAC/Fiat Dealer/Work
- I’m finally in work and the Punto is being repaired as I type
- I’m yet to see Hot Fuzz…
Update: Forgot to mention, both Aria.co.uk and mini-itx.com have since sent me both orders that were outstanding/RMA’d. It appears that they both ignore many emails, but do pay attention to a letter through the post - so the good ol’ postal system still has a use over e-mail.

I was confused for a second then. But I guess I have, as it uses words from the original article, which I shouldn’t have done! Ah bollox.

Did you visit Ben Kenobi?

Nope. I didn’t realise how big Tunisia was - it’s about the size of England and Wales squished together. We were staying in the north, whereas the places where Star Wars was filmed (7 or so in total) were wayyyyyyy down in the south - apparently 14 hours round trip away. So we’ll be returning to Tunisia sometime in the future, but staying in the south and driving out to the various destinations.
However, we did visit El Jem, which is the 3rd biggest Roman Colosseum in the world - the most in-tact of them all. It’s where a lot of Gladiator was filmed and was frickin’ bo to walk around it. You could go everywhere - up in the seating; underneath the seating where the Gladiators walked on; in the ring itself - complete with trap doors for the animals to come up through; along with the dungeon underneath. I’ll post some pictures sometime soon, but going to re-watch the filum tonight to spot things.

I fought many other slaves to become a Gladiator. Everyone was impressed with my 1337 sword-wielding skills, especially as I chopped everyone’s head off in the ring.
