Dog Poo
There I was, me teaching a class about the Internet and what it can do. I was being observed by an external moderator thingy and so I was under a bit of pressure. Everything was fine though…
…until my mind went blank.
I was giving examples of websites and what their urls are made up of (www, domain name etc.). I wrote down ebay and amazon and google, the popular choices. Then a colleague interrupted the lesson - to get her back I asked for an example of a website address - she said dogpoo.com!
Luckily I managed to bring the lesson back to speed and wrote up www.bbc.co.uk (I think), but I’m sure the observer heard her and I’m certain all the learners did too.
Moral of the story? Don’t ask colleagues for suggestions.
Simply the pest!
Just finished watching Saxondale - Alan Partridge’s (Steve Coogan’s) new comedy.
And it’s great - think Alan with a beard, pest control equipment and a higher IQ.
Watch it next Monday if you missed it tonight.
Acer F-19
I’ve just posted log #15 on bit-tech for my Blue-PC Project (which isn’t so blue).
I picked up my new LCD at the weekend and I’ve written all about it in the thread. So go and take a look and marvel at the glossiness and amazing-ness of the Ferrari 19″ LCD Monitor/TV.
Not much else to say (that hasn’t already been said), but it’s very nice. Worth every penny.
Ben’s new room!
Friday evening I drove down to Windsor to see my family for the weekend, but I didn’t realise I would have to work during my stay!
Free chinese take-away is a good thing, but Saturday we were up at 8am and didn’t get to bed until 3am Sunday - as we completely emptied Ben’s bedroom and gave it a Lawrence-Llewellyn-Bowen make over. Actually one far better than anything the ponce could come up with…
The end result?

One pimp room. Complete with new laminate flooring, oak bed, glass/chrome desk and not a lot else.
Sunday morning we went off to PC World and completed the look with a new aluminium keyboard/mouse/speakers and chrome/leather chair.
My legs and feet still hurt from standing up all day, but the end result was well worth it.
New headers!
I’ve just finished whipping up some brand-new headers for the blog, in Photoshop. 12 in total to be more specific.
Hit refresh many times to see all of the different headers. Or if you can’t be bothered to sit through 103 random refreshes, then you can see them here [links removed 2008-01-30].. Phew!
