It appears that over the next month or so, there are 100’s of decent films coming out either in the Cinema or onto DVD. I’ll give you a shortlist as an example:

Yay i sort of have internet…i connected a borrowed wireless reciever to my usb extender cable and put it outside this room dangling down the stairs and i can get signal! wowowoowaa!
Anyway I have serious question. How do you change a password for a ftp connection? Tamsins mum gave the school ftp website password to some weirdo who decided to delete the images folder. Anyway she wanted to know how to have the password changed so he cant go on ftp and mess about like a peado. is it thru web host? i cant think straight…. i only think bent.

Usually you do it through the control panel of the website - or the host themselves. For example, on my control panel I can add/remove ftp users and change their passwords too. I’d get the school to contact their webhost, or logon to their website admin area (cpanel on a linux server most likely) and change the user their. Best thing to do would be to delete the user and create a new one from scratch.

Their school website needs updating and the person who used to deal with it has left so she asked me if I could do anything, I had a look and what she was asking me to do seemed pretty straight forward. Just move a few buttons and links about and make a new page or two. Heck, Id try and build them a new site if she wanted to pay me :)
Its kind of funny how even tho you think you are crap at html…to other people it still means you are pretty compentent. hhmmm….

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah, that’s how things go. And the more you do it, the better you’ll become. One day soon I’ll upload the original version of slickhouse.com, through to the current (version 5) and it basically shows me learning html.

Not tried it myself but im gonna because a new xbox update allows me to stream wmv to 360 with it or something & i like to play.

Oooh, looks nice. Downloading it now and I’ll try it out later tonight. I’ve still not got Vista installed on me PC, though had a play with it.
My tiny PC should be arriving tomorrow, it measures 6.75″ by 6.75″ (the tiny PC that is)!

Installed it - it looks nice (as I already said), but doesn’t offer any more really than 10, or indeed 9. I’d still rather use iTunes for all my music and library, but Media Player for videos. DVDs will still be played via WinDVD for me at least.

yeah seems the same. Black tho innit, yeah black means its new. Can get it to stream to 360 either because im having connection problems that i dont understand about. DNS errors whatever the fook that is. Ill use Winamp, they got free porn.

Do you have a router that both your PC and 360 are connected to? It sounds like there’s an IP problem with the 360, it possibly hasn’t been assigned one - though can you access things online with it?

I can access sometimes if i turn off zonealarm, connect then usually i turn zonealarm back on. However this seems to only work sometimes. I swear firewalls just do what the hell they want.
The connection is Wall socket > Wireless sender thingi > My computer (thru wireless reciever) > Lan cable to Xbox. The 360 is on automatic IP & so are the dns settings only i dont know what im doing. Used to work without any faff at home :(

If it worked OK at home and you haven’t changed any settings on the 360 itself, then it sounds like the ‘wireless sender thingi’ which I presume is a router with wireless capabilities.
ZoneAlarm would prevent it from connecting to your PC but not the Internet - can you connect to Live/Internet with the 360 all the time, but only occasionally connect to your PC?
The wonders of modern technology, it’s funny how they expect your average Joe to know all this…

Ok here’s the deal, after testing I got it. With 360 going to PC Lan; Zonealarm cuts off internet communication so it must be blocking the connection between the 360 and the PC. With no firewall there are no problems, but that’s no good for me. So what do I need to change to allow for the firewall to allow the Xbox connection.

You need to work out which port(s) the 360 uses and allow them on your firewall (zone alarm). I reckon Microsoft’s 360 site should say what port(s) the 360 uses/needs.
