New Style!
The observant ones out there may have noticed that the style of the blog has changed slightly. The font type, size and colour have been changed to co-incide with my new website. Hopefully I’ll have it up and running within the next week or two, but I still have a lot of copy to finish for it.
It’s quite scary how much it looks like my blog, but I guess the style and layout works well.

whats this new website then?

It’s to replace the old slickhouse site - making it the 5th version I guess.
The difference is that I’ve spent 3 months coding it, whereas before I would create the various versions in under a week. Whether or not it looks any better is another story, but it’s almost entirely hand-coded with XHTML/CSS. Hence why I’ve spent this morning changing my Blog’s CSS to this nice new style.
Had a bit of problem getting the bars (to the right and bottom) displaying correctly, but it’s 99% there now. Can’t be bothered sorting out the further 1% - which is the pages that display without the sidebar, for example - look at the Random Comments and you will see a tiny gap between the bar to the right and the header image. Actually, maybe I should sort out the 1%, afterall perfection is key.

Go bollocks. I spend 3 hours+ modifying it, only to find that stupid IE displays it all wrong! Bah… back to the drawing board.
EDIT: I fixed the code for Internet Explorer users and also wrote an article at the same time, showing why you should use a Web-standards conforming browser, such as Firefox.

Firefox Rulerz! the only problems Ive had with displaying my pages have been with IE, well apart from that 1 time….
Sounds like you work too hard mr matt, I think you deserve this prize! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2718594049910403910&q=dave+chapelle

That is a pimp video. Thanks for pointing it out, better than the Galaxies one (almost) where the guy warps off the sofa.
I don’t know if it’s that I’ve been working hard, or slow. Either way, it is taking ages to finish something that is extremely simple.

if it took ages then its not simple! i spend aaages on the littlest things, its why i achieve next to nothing with myself and tend not to start things. Its also the reason demozone still looks like a piece of shit.

I think simplicity is hard to reach, or achieve. For example, I bet it takes interior designers a lot longer to design a simplistic room, than to plaster it with flowers and shite.
Actually, sod that, you just paint it white - look at the Lawrence Llewyelkekenbkwneknw Bowen coming out!
