Slickhouse V5?
Thought I’d give you a preview of the new slickhouse.com:
Of course, it wont be named Version 5 this time, in fact it probably wont mention version anywhere. Though what you see above is a snippet of what is the 11th version of version 5 of slickhouse.com. Confusing? Good.
For those of you getting excited, I should let you down slowly - there wont be a ‘My Penis’ section on the site. In fact, there probably wont be a Javascript sub-menu like above either.
What there will be, is the slickest creation on the web. Hopefully. I’ve spent nearly 12 hours this week, in my spare time, hand-coding the CSS and XHTML as much as possible, in Dreamweaver. I’ve pretty much finished the layout, so now I’ve got to focus on the content - including an array of pictures.
I was originally planning on going the Photoshop/ImageReady slicing route, as I’ve done with my portfolio, the parody site and a few other creations. But I wanted to get to grips (mince!) with CSS and make the pages as fast as possible to load - allowing the remaining bandwidth to be spent on downloading the pictures. I’ve even taught myself how to optimise the code!
ETA? Well, hopefully by Easter Sunday.
