Old Skool Gaming

As mentioned in a previous post, my gaming has been somewhat limited since installing my LCD to my ceiling…

I’ve not touched Counter-Strike since the summer holidays! But I managed to get some time yesterday to play GTA-San Andreas. According to the save game, I’ve not played it since 31st March this year. It was a bit confusing at first, as I couldn’t remember half of the controls and I’ve completely forgotten what I’m supposed to be doing. But it was still good, I spent most of the time gambling in the casino, putting down bets of 1million (I’m up to 102million in the game now), along with running over cops in a pickup truck.

Today, I’ve been trawling through my old games, looking for ones that will run on my trusty laptop - afterall it’s not equipped with a 7800-go. I came up with Age Of Empires 2 - nice and easy LAN game. OK, I had to trawl the net and find a decent no-cd along with the latest patch, but it’s all up and running on several PCs on my home network. So I should be building an army within the next few minutes.

I miss games… I reckon my new-years resolution should be to build a new gaming PC, or pre-order a Playstation 3. Afterall, the 360 wont be available for months with all this hype.

I need to practice more… after an hour or building up my ‘fortress’ I was defeated badly by my own sister. Sure, she plays it quite often - and I’ve not played it in years, but still… this is what the lack of games do to you.
